Skills Portfolio Breakfast

The Sherwood Park & District Chamber of Commerce Education Committee would like to invite you to the 2019 Student Skills Portfolio Breakfast which will be held at Festival Place, 100 Festival Way, on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 7:30 - 9 am.

The breakfast promotes the Chamber’s Student Skills Portfolio Program; a program that is part of the curriculum for all high schools in Sherwood Park and surrounding area. The program supplies portfolio binders for the students to us in the CALM course and provide a framework for students to organize and present their academic, personal and employment achievements to future employers and post-secondary institutions.

Each table will host 2 students who will share their portfolios with the 6 others at each table.

Opioids Don’t Discriminate

Bree Claude, Director of Family and Community Services in Strathcona County and a member of the local Strathcona County Drug Strategy Committee, will talk about the opioid crisis and the positive and collaborative movement to raise awareness and build empathy in the community. She will explain the journey to develop four pillars of support and discuss a recent first of its kind opioid exhibit that featured three different types of characters and their lived experiences. Join us for this informative tale of a shared community aspiration to break the stigma associated with opioid use and provide a safe, supportive and connected environment for people to seek help.
