Chamber Wellness Challenge

Over the past few years personal wellness has been stressed as a priority in people’s lives. Wellness challenges are popping up everywhere and they are encouraging more and more people to get healthy and live better.
The Chamber Wellness Challenge is simple for any office to implement. The program educates and motivates individuals to make better diet, exercise and stress reducing choices – gradually and painlessly.
The Sherwood Park & District Chamber of Commerce is proud to start this initiative on November 1, 2011. The challenge offers a new productive approach to corporate health and wellness designed to rejuvenate and improve the physical condition of employees. The goal is to bring awareness to businesses that health and wellness practices are easy to implement at the office, and have shown to increase productivity and morale among staff.
Employers want employees to enjoy work and bring the best of themselves to work everyday. Exercise and healthy eating habits have been shown to increase blood flow to the brain, decreases incidences of sickness, lower blood pressure, improve sleep habits, and increase energy levels. This healthy fitness lifestyle directly creates a more productive workforce and an increase in customer satisfaction.
The Sherwood Park & District Chamber of Commerce wants to encourage each chamber member to implement a wellness improvement initiative for their office/business. We want to hear what your business/office has planned as well as updates about how it is going. There is a form on the website that you can download and fax (780-449-3581) or email (callen@sherwoodparkchamber.com) your plan to improve office wellness. We will be highlighting different member’s wellness plans in the newspaper and on our website.
