Chamber Wellness Challenge



The Chamber Wellness Challenge has been revamped and is kicking off 2013 with a bang. We encourage all members to participate in this new month to month wellness challenge. Each month will have a specific theme with one goal to accomplish consistently throughout the month. Below are each month’s themes and the requirements. It is quite simple and can be interpreted for what works for each individual. A number of of the suggested activities for each month can be done at work with out interrupting work environment.

To participate in one or all of the monthly challenges please fill out a participation form, then either fax (780) 449-3581, email or drop off your form at the Chamber. Every month the participants will be entered into a draw and a winner will be drawn and announced at each monthly luncheon from the previous months challenge. The winning participant will keep the Chamber Wellness Challenge trophy at their office until the next month’s winner is drawn.


Monthly Challenges


January – Better Food Choices
Eat 2 fruits and 1 vegetable a day

January Winner:

February - Build a Stronger Heart
Increase Heart Rate 3x a week for 20 minutes a time
(increase heart rate = difficult to hold a conversation)
February Promo 

March – Random Acts of Kindness
Accomplish 2 random acts of kindness a week

March Winner:

April – Drink More Water
Drink 4 (500ml) water bottles a day

April Winner:

May – Firm up for Summer
For as little as 10 minutes every other day do 5 push-ups, 10 crunches, 30 second wall sit, 15 walking lunges (repeat twice)

June – Smile
Consciously smile 10 times a day 
When feeling happy humans are more motivated to be active
